Photojournalism

Photojournalism: a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing & presenting of new materials for publication or broadcast] that creates images in order to tell a news story.

Old Example of Photojournalism:
This photograph was taken by Ian MacMillan & was based on ideas by Paul. It's the album cover of The Beatles', "Abbey Road", showing John, Ringo, Paul  & George crossing the street.  It was taken on August 8th, 1969 & at Abbey Road, London, NW8 North. If you look really closely you'd notice Paul is not wearing any shoes & is bare-footed.

New Example of Photojournalism:
This photo was taken by Guillermo Cervera. Guillermo Cervera has been in war in Lybia, he was threatened with torture in Chad. Over the last few years, he has been developing a ritual to get rid of stress & trauma. He says he finds relief & tranquility in making photos of something beautiful, mostly surfing. When he was little he would look at magazines of beautiful pictures & always thought to himself he wanted to do that. He picked up his surfing a while later  & discovered photography has a calming effect on him.
